Rosen Method is a way of uniting body, mind and spirit for enhanced well-being. Rosen Method teaches how the body can become a best friend and a wise teacher.
‘Through listening to the truth of the body, it is possible to discover what we can do, who we can be, what we can experience, how we can love.’ Marion Rosen
Rosen Method is somatic approach which addresses muscular tension and restricted breath. Its unique form of sensitive touch and verbal communication helps people to become aware of what they are holding – physically and emotionally – in their bodies. It has long been recognised that touch can have a powerful effect on the body when we are relaxed; our natural healing mechanisms work more effectively.
This two day workshop is open to anyone interested in exploring the way emotions and memories show up in the body, and the impact that has on our health, on how we feel, or how we don’t feel. It is for people who want to let go of what drains them, and find out what makes them happy and more open and alive. It is for people who have reached a ‘stuck’ place in their lives, and want a fresh approach for inner connection and renewal, or for people with issues around touch.
This course is also suitable for health professionals wanting to explore a natural way to support clients to let go of unconscious habits and postures that cause them physical or emotional pain. Some of the benefits may include release of physical tension and pain, reduction of stress and chronically suppressed emotion, leading to improved immune functioning and improved interpersonal relationships. Attending an Introductory Workshop can also be the first step to professional training in Rosen Method.
Annabelle Apsion and Ingrid-Maria Nordgren from Rosen Method UK are teaching the workshop, and you get an attendance Certificate by Rosen Method UK.
Annabelle studied Rosen Method for many years as a hobby, fascinated by the link between our bodies and our thoughts and feelings. Although actors pay detailed attention to the way a characters inner world is reflected in their body language, it came as a surprise to discover through Rosen Method sessions and workshops the degree to which our body postures can in turn affect our sense of who we are and how we feel. Annabelle founded the UK Rosen Training School with Ingrid Maria Nordgren and also teaches, gives supervision as well as seeing her own clients in London and Brighton.
Ingrid Maria was running her own massage centre and practice in Turkey when she took up the offer of a trial Rosen session from a visiting Rosen Method therapist. Her session had been so gentle she had thought the trembling she experienced after the session was a minor earthquake. In fact it had been her nervous system re calibrating and releasing long held tension stored in her body. Up until that point Ingrid-Maria had never considered that her tired and tense body had anything to do with suppressed feelings or her emotional and spiritual life. She relocated to the UK after training to be a Rosen Practitioner in her native Sweden. She has worked in psychiatric units and now teaches Rosen Method as well as giving supervisions and sessions in Dunstable and London. Ingrid Maria is also a trained psychotherapist.
